Learning from 2004 Election

In 2002 and 2003 every media outlet predicted 375 to 380 seats to NDA. Vajpayee was a popular prime minister. Economy surged. BJP won all major assembly elections. Everyone said there is no opposition. Most of the media made fun of Sonia Gandhi , her accent, and what not. All poll surveys predicted a NDA win. Pramod Mahajan was celebrated as a master strategist. Sounds familiar? Now also there is an aggressive media campaign making many believe that there is no opposition; ridiculing Rahul Gandhi and spreading the myth there is no alternative to Modi and opposition is dispersed; there is no PM candidate; and India Today made very similar prediction.
Whenever the ruling party or ruling class felt too smart, Indian electorate responded asserting democracy. So wait and see 2019. The.wind will change and surprises will be in the store.
